1. Nối âm với /w/ và /j/
Khi một từ kết thúc bằng nguyên âm, và từ sau bắt đầu bằng nguyên âm /uː/ hoặc /ɪ/, ta thêm âm /w/ hoặc /j/ để nối mượt hơn.
2. Nối cụm 3 từ liên tiếp
Khi 3 từ đứng cạnh nhau có thể nối âm, hãy luyện phát âm liên tục, không ngắt quãng.

1. Nối phụ âm + nguyên âm
Khi một từ kết thúc bằng phụ âm và từ sau bắt đầu bằng nguyên âm, nối âm cuối của từ đầu sang đầu từ sau.
Ví dụ: Turn off, Take it, Pick it up
2. Nối cùng phụ âm – phụ âm giống nhau
Nếu hai từ có cùng phụ âm ở cuối và đầu, chỉ phát âm một lần nhưng kéo dài hơn một chút.
Ví dụ: good day, big gift, cheap pen
3. Nối âm /r/
Trong giọng Anh-Anh (British), nếu từ kết thúc bằng -r (thường không phát âm) và từ sau bắt đầu bằng nguyên âm, âm /r/ sẽ được phát ra để nối hai từ.
